Week 1 and 2 in California

My first few days in the mission field. So the first day was fun we woke up at around like 930 am. So we got to sleep in essentially because when we were got to the mission home we it was like 12 am in the morning. But yeah once we woke up we just got ready and kinda went to the church so we could get a run down of everything and also get are trainers. And I got 2 of them so I guess this is the Savior saying I'm soo stubborn and hard headed that I need 2 trainers to learn something 🤣🤣. Jk Jk. But no honestly it's cool being in a trio for my first place. Oh by the way I am in a Fijian ward. So we teach Figians. And they have actually been teaching me a little bit of Fijian. It's really cool. And then the next few days we just started teaching these two people. And it was cool cuz they had a lot of questions and well I haven't talked much just cuz I am trying to get an understanding of the dynamics of things. But when I did speak I felt as though that the people got a better understanding and cleared things up. Oh and another cool thing with being in this ward is that the food from the ward is sooo good. Honestly reminds me of home. And one of the Sisters in the ward said she would learn how to make Gumbo for me and invite me over for it. And they are sooo nice. Honestly soo glad that this is my first area. Because the past few days I've noticed that most people in the day to day California are soooo rude. Like you can say hey how's your day and they just look at you knowing that you said hi and they just ignore you. So having this ward where it'd literally so much like home is nice to have. ALSO THE PEOPLE LIED ABOUT THE BIKES. It's not a mainly bike mission. And there aren't a lot of hills. But yeah there are some bike areas but other then that not mainly. Soo I'm kinda typing this daily and I kinda forgot to do it for this week. So ima kinda just summarize it. So this past week I kinda have gotten a bit more of an understanding of how different of a mission this is from others. First of all they don't allow weights in this mission which kinda stomps on my goal to come back bigger than when I came out. But I'll find a way. If you know me at all you know I always find a way when it's something that's important to me. And also the mission doesn't allow the use of Facebook for the first transfer and after the first transfer you can do it but asked to do it only occasionally. Which is weird because at the MTC they really just stressed to use Facebook and social media to share uplifting messages and stuff like that to use daily on your mission but yeah. So kinda frustrating on that. Ohhhh I finally got my SOAP I dunno why but they thought it was supposed to be a present for Christmas. Like they had this thing where all the Missionaries came to one of the church's to pick up there presents that there parents Sent them and they had cookies as well with them. And they said I had a box... I was like oh you mean my soap and I was exited like finally got my soap I've been using this weird stuff that had messed up my hair I think a little. So I'm really happy for the soap to be in. Lol. And being in this ward you will never go hungry cuz even if they cancel they will either order take out or give you money to go get some food witch is kinda awkward cuz it's like oh they canceled okay we can try to finish off the 10 boxes of left overs you gave us. Then they pop the oh but here's some money or here's take out. And we're just like oh um okay thank you. It's even weirder for the money part because we are just like we don't wanna take your money. But yeah they are super nice. Also my Mission President has asked me to find My Gifts that are specific to me that God has given me to help people and to help me bring people to the Gospel. And thats been kinda cool....
